It’s not often that we post trailers for baby-raising sims, and one look at this video from
My Baby Girl/Boy will explain why — they’re
scary. Obviously us and most of our readers aren’t the targeted group for such a game, but even so, we think this might deserve and “M” for “Mature” rating. How much more mature can you get than raising a baby anyway?
My Baby Girl/Boy also seems to abandon nothing up to the imagination, except for the birthing process (and who knows, maybe not even that). From bathing the babies, to playing games with them, to wiping their butts and changing their diapers, you have to do it all.
To be affable, it does seem that the stylus works well for the gameplay involved.

When it comes to video games, dealing with Death just comes with the territory, but while we’re used to seeing him on a pale horse and lining Piers Anthony’s pockets with gold, we’re less informed about the old guy’s family tree. Nevertheless, one thing we now know, if developer Deck 13 is to be believed, is that the immortality incarnate had a daughter named Scarlett, with the German dev casting her as the central character in Venetica, an upcoming RPG for the Xbox 360 and PC.
Publisher dtp describes the game’s story as “cryptic” with a sixteenth century-style open world that “mixes emotions and action.” However, like Scarlett, who apparently knows nothing of her lineage and hidden powers, we too are left guessing regarding most of Venetica’s details. Still, the initial batch of screens and a teaser website have made this one look original enough to watch out for in 2009.

With Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest already out in the U.S. and due for Europe on June 13th (interestingly, with the original Japanese title, Ecolis), there’s no reason why anyone should import the Japanese game, right?
Play Asia thinks differently and has marked down the environment-conscious RTS to an unbelievable $5! That’s banoodles! Basically, starting today until next Tuesday, the game is now cheaper than most of the meals on Arby’s menu! You could buy Ecolis/Eco-Creatures for less than the price of a chicken sandwich, a drink, and curly fries.
Speaking of Arby’s curly fries, how frickin’ delicious are Arby’s curly fries? Maybe you should go out and buy some anyway, that way you can eat them while playing Ecolis. It might cheer you up after hours of navigating the game’s Japanese menus and frustrating controls.

The latest batch of screens from Summon Night: Twin Age reveal fifteen of the game’s characters, including the protagonists Aldo and Reiha. The images depict humans, Kascuza (the human-like beast race of the RPG), and some summoned beasts that appear. They can be seen in the gallery below, so be sure to eye them over.
Since most Summon Night games don’t get localized, we’re excited to see how Twin Age turns out. The two GBA titles were fun, be we think the series has the potential to be even greater with stylus integration.
Anyone that agrees with us will be happy to know that Twin Age hits North American retailers one week from today.

Sega Europe’s official Platinum Games sites are up, including one for the DS RPG Infinite Line. It’s a faithful translation of the Japanese Infinite Line site, with the same three Japanese screenshots. But this time, you can read the text on the website.
The newly-legible text doesn’t exactly contain gameplay details, but it confirms what we’ve puzzled out so far. You upgrade your ship with “a combination of module-like parts,” which sounds like an accurate description of the Tetris -style parts we’ve seen. You won’t be limited to customizing a single ship. According to the site, you can choose to work on the same ship, or you can acquire multiple ships.
The bombastic copy concludes with “A magnificent story that more than lives up to the word ‘voyage’. A world that cannot be constrained by the word ‘RPG’.” As if Clover fans didn’t have high enough expectations.

With so many editions of
Ask X3F come and gone, one would think that we would have answered them all by now. But no, man is a curious creature, a creature whose thirst for knowledge will not be slaked. Also, it turns out, people just love asking questions about unreleased games. The most recent game-du-semaine is none other than
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Announced just over a year ago, it missed its projected 2007 release and sank into obscurity. What happened to it? Find our best theory (and feel free to submit your own) after the break Oh, and we answer other questions too.
Got a question for Ask X3F? Maybe you have a story or some information you’d like to share? Send it all to ask [at] xbox360fanboy [dawt] com.

And we totally called it. That’s right: the meaning of the much-discussed moon that featured prominently in Nintendo Power had nothing to do with Disgaea, Metroid, Earthbound, or a … Balance Board-compatible sequel to Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker? You people are strange.
So it’s Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, which may seem like a disappointment to some (compared to, y’know, Earthbound), but hey: at least we get oodles of new details. According to Nintendo Power, this IGAvania is set in the mid-1800s and stars the series’ first ever female protagonist, Shanoa. The magazine that there are “no real weapons in this game,” with glyphs that can change form (for example, into a sword) Shanoa’s weapon of choice.
There’s a mass of other details waiting for you after the break — don’t forget your whip glyphs.

Reaching episode 070 of the Xbox 360 Fancast is kind of like reaching your birthday after 25. Sure, there is a perfunctory, soulless celebration, but the truth is that the presents are dwindling, and the ones you do get are probably clothes anyway. There was a time when we used to truly celebrate every tenth episode of the Fancast. This was mainly because each milestone seemed less likely than the last. Nowadays, however, another ten episodes seems inevitable, rote, ordinary. C’est lå vie, non?
Oh, Xav is back. That’s worth celebrating, right?
