Look closely at the above image. Doesn’t it remind you of something (hint: this)? The graphic is from a restaurant in Acapulco, Mexico, by the name of Pancho Bigotes. Pretty blatant rip-off, wouldn’t you say?
Frankly, we always thought Mario strictly stuck to the vegetables, what with the mushrooms and leaves he’s always eating (that might explain his recent trip into bat country), so it’s kind of odd to see him holding a plate full of meat and a mug of beer.

Nothing brings us more pleasure than when a single product can unite both the disabled and the lazy, and that’s exactly what your friend and ours Ben Heck has cooked up with his new, commercially available one-handed peripheral: the Access Controller, compatible with PCs, PS2 and PS3. You can now pre-order the unit here.
Though the footprint is a bit larger than previous one-handed attempts we have to give him credit, if only for figuring out how to make all the buttons accessible (the layout’s even customizable). Now, when can we get our hands hand on a 360 version?

No, you’re not seeing things, and no we haven’t made a gargantuan mistake by having a Star Wars: The Force Unleashed pic on a Soulcalibur IV story. It, basically, is the story. For you see, according to Gamespot, not only is Darth Vader making his way into the PS3 version of Soulcalibur IV, but his dark apprentice will be following close behind. However, the apprentice will be the only guest Star Wars character to go multiplatform as both Vader and Yoda will remain console exclusives.
It’s quite interesting to see all these cross-genre, cross-developer crossovers. Another prominent one is Assassin’s Solid. We wonder which two developers will unite and surprise us next.

If you have a Japanese PSN account, you can check out a downloadable demo of Fatal Inertia, which is completely in the English language. This PSN downloadable racing game is coming to PS3, but with vast improvements over the critically lampooned Xbox 360 original. The visuals, while not matching the fidelity of the upcoming WipEout HD, do look nice, especially at the higher speeds. What we’re most impressed by, however, is the incredible amount of content that’s being delivered in this digitally distributed title.
Co-op split-screen Career Mode sounds intriguing, as does eight player online races. What gets us most excited, though, are the number of tracks being delivered: 59 tracks total, across 7 different environment types. That’s a lot of content for a game that will cost significantly less than a standard retail title.
A demo will be available on the US PLAYSTATION Store soon, and players will be able to unlock the full game from within the demo. Hopefully, the ambitions of the Fatal Inertia team will translate into something truly worthwhile.

Along with the launch of its official Band Brothers DX site yesterday, Nintendo has released a set of screenshots showing off the rhythm game’s new features, such as its downloadable songs and acoustic guitar.
One addition that we’ve been hoping to see more of is the Karaoke Bar (pictured right), a mode in which you can practice your singing abilities with the Nintendo DS’s mic. We bet you can’t wait to sing Ashley’s Theme Song while other people on the bus/train whisper and giggle about your off-key performance.
Of course, following the lyrics might prove to be difficult considering that most the words will be written in Japanese, but there’s no need to worry about that, as Nintendo will likely localize Band Brothers DX, just like it localized the original game, Jam With The Band … on opposite day.
When you’re done feeling bitter about all that, jump into our gallery below for more screenshots. There’s some great looking boxart to be found there!

Oxygen games is making three titles for “the young female gamer,” including My Make-Up, My Dress-Up, and My Secret Diary. It’s not hard to guess what each game will be about — makeovers, fashion, and keeping a journal, respectively. As cheesy as they sound, there is a cool feature that adds interoperability between them. For example, if you save your Make-Up results and send them to a Dress-Up friend, your character gets the full makeover. Owners of these games can also talk to friends who have copies via Nintendo’s WFC (we assume through text chat and not voice chat).
All in all, it’s a good thing that Oxygen is making these, because the little girl market is severely under-catered to on the DS. (Okay, we were just kidding about that last part.) In any case, you can expect these titles to hit the market in Q3.

If you’ve been out of the loop for Japanese game releases, Irem Software has Bumpy Trot: Vehicle Battle Tournament set for sometime in July. The game is a spiritual successor, of sorts, to the PS2 game Steambot Chronicles. It hit shores outside of Japan, so this one might, too. Well, if you’re an import-friendly type of person and want to jump on this with a pre-order, you’ll get this really nifty PSP pouch as a bonus. Enjoy!

If you’re interested, hit up the intro page, which documents how it’s all going to go down. Then, come back to the site around 7pm ET tonight and you’ll see this very post at the top of the page. Only then, it’ll have a link in there. Click it, and you’ll be in the Game Night chat. Easy enough, right?
We hope to see you there tonight!

Let’s face it: you’ll probably never drive a Ferrari in your lifetime (alas). Those of us in North America can’t even have the satisfaction of driving one on a handheld — not yet, at least. Thanks to a distribution deal with System 3, Activision is bringing Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli to the U.S. and Canada in Q3.
Since this game is also coming out for the Wii, PS3, and PS2, the press release doesn’t boast about the features of the DS version, sadly. We don’t see why the DS game wouldn’t include online multiplayer like some of its counterparts, though. Ferrari Challenge also features fifteen international circuits, which isn’t too shabby.
Hopefully the developers actually put time into the DS version (which releases in Australia and Europe on June 19th and 20th), as we can use some more fun racing games for our favorite handheld.
Note: Image is from the PS3 version.
