You’d think that since the Microsoft Press Conference was over we’d all curl up and think about the awesomeness. Naw! We still got a ton of stuff to show and tell you! So grab a cup of coffee for another content explosion.
This update is all about Gears of War 2. Microsoft released a handful of news screens and concept art for the anticipated sequel today as well as a shot at the retail box art for the game. Word around the Twitter campfire is Cliff Bleszinski’s original motto of “bigger, better and more badass” for Gears 2 has been replaced by “epic and intimate.” This box art screams it.

Confirming a rumor we heard earlier in the day, 1UP.com is reporting that Halo Wars has indeed slipped to the first half of 2009. While we’re upset we won’t get the chance to destroy squads with our very own Scarb in 2008, we’ve anticipated this delay in the past. It’s a shame gamers won’t get to experience the game this year but with the recent announcements at E3 2008 of online cooperative play in Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 we don’t anticipate anyone getting bored for a while.

Somewhere under the remains of what’s now Washington D.C., we’ve uncovered inside an opened vault what appears to be a link to a Fallout 3 teaser site. Corny theatrics aside, the teaser site is currently as desolate as Fallout’s Capitol wasteland, but Bethesda promises some good content to go up soon. While it’s quite affable to see a new site dedicated solely to Fallout 3, you’ll have to pardon us if we think this site is already more than adequate.

In case you missed it during our Live Blog of the Electronic Arts press conference, there’s some new information from the guys at BioWare. BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk announced that the upcoming PC title Dragon Age Origins will also see life on consoles, in the future. Expected to be exclusive to the PC initially, the dungeon crawler will feel familiar to fans of Baldur’s Gate — another BioWare franchise. No other information on a console release schedule for Dragon Age Origins is available yet, but we expect it won’t be for quite some time.

Here we go — with the Nintendo press briefing just hours away, the rumor brigade in Los Angeles is kicking things into high gear, and there are all sorts of rumblings about the DS. According to IGN, a number of things may or may not happen this week, including but not limited to:
- Activision (wait, didn’t they bail on E3? No matter; they have their own presentation coming up tomorrow night) announcing a(nother) DS peripheral that will add tilt and motion functionality to the handheld via the GBA slot
- The next Tony Hawk game is rumored to be the first to use the Activision peripheral
- Nintendo is preparing to provide built-in tilt and motion within the carts of some upcoming games
But the most interesting thing from the rumor mill is the big possibility we’ve been discussing of late: DS Micro ahoy! Word is that Nintendo may be preparing to release that redesigned handheld after all, but per these rumors, it looks like the new design is not meant to supplant the current Lite model — which explains the color explosion. The slimmed-down DS may sacrifice the GBA slot and could possibly feature that accelerometer functionality built-in. The best part? We may be looking at a drastically-reduced price — IGN is talking about a DS that’s $100 cheaper than the current model.
Our own JC Fletcher is on the ground in LA as we speak, and David Hinkle is en route, so we hope to have more information — or at least, more rumors — for you soon. Whatever happens, we’ll probably be scratching off a few of our DS predictions very soon.

Who doesn’t love geeks, really? But do you love them enough to play a game about building Rube Goldberg machines in order to defeat bullies and impress the ladies? Well then, you should check out the upcoming DS title I Love Geeks.
You might be wondering what a game filled with Rube Goldberg puzzles even looks like (we were). Well, we’re answering that question for you right here, right now, with some gallery screens to check out.
To a history major like this blogger, I Love Geeks looks a bit daunting in its concepts. Hopefully our love for geeks will be enough to overcome any challenges the game has to throw at us. Who knew that geeks could be so intimidating?

Who would have thought that Midway would take a page out Capcom’s book and pull off Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe? It’s a befitting concept given that Marvel has been used up oh so many times before in Street Fighter pair ups. Now it’s time to take DC into the fighting arena.
These new screenshots show some highly unfair agree ups: Sonya versus Superman? Gee, we wonder just who would win in a fight like that? Anyway, there’s more where that came from, so view our gallery below.
