Capcom is offering this pretty rare opportunity, especially for Westerners like us, to vote for who we want to see in the console versions of Street Fighter IV. You can pick from the following list of fighters: Cammy, Hugo, Dee Jay, Ibuki, Fei Long, Sakura, T. Hawk or Dan. Though there are characters from Alpha all the way to Street Fighter III, we can’t help but wish we could fill in our own vote. Anyway, what are you still reading this for? Head for to Capcom Unity to cast your vote now!

Put this in your logbook: Avalon Code looks resplendent. Matrix Software has already demonstrated its mastery of the DS hardware through its remakes of Final Fantasy III and the soon-to-be-released Final Fantasy IV; and if the latest dozen screenshots are anything to go by, Avalon Code and its mop-topped hero can stand proud next to either of those. Thank goodness it’s heading this way!

var digg_url = ‘http://digg.com/gaming_news/Bungie_s_E3_announcement_deferred_by_publisher’; Update 2: Luke Smith replied to a comment made in NeoGAF confirming the publisher in question is in fact Microsoft. Reponding to the comment, “Bungie is the one who made this great little hype machine. And–although this will just add to the fire–they never say it’s Microsoft.” Smith replied, “Our publisher is Microsoft.”
Update: Bungie community direct Luke Smith has confirmed the postponement is legitimate. “We already are deeply disappointed with how things unfolded to this point without getting our fans to the intended payoff.” When forum goers at NeoGAF assumed it was a joke Smith responded with the above comment and added, “Nope. Not our style.” It’s real everyone. Sorry.
It appears that the wait is over. Forgoing the original plan of waiting for the countdown clock to reach zero, Bungie.net has been updated with new information regarding the mysterious Superintendent. According to the newly refreshed site, the Superintendent is … well, we don’t know. According to the site Bungie was working toward a reveal when its publishing partner, presumably Microsoft, canceled the announcement.
Right now on Bungie.net a letter from Bungie president, Harold Ryan is displayed and reveals the cancellation of the announcement.
Jump in to read the letter.

We certainly wouldn’t classify this under one of the best deals we’ve shared, but Amazon is currently having a buy-2-get-1-free sale on selected Blu-ray discs. Nevertheless, there are some films in this selection we haven’t seen on sale before. Full list of titles on sale is available here
. A couple that we enjoyed (based on the quality of the film) after the jump:
[Thanks, Alex!]

I got to look at the DS version of Mushroom Men at the Gamecock EIEIO event in March, but I didn’t get to play it. Today, though, I arrived at an odd middle division in one of the demo rotations, and basically ended up being left alone in a room with a DS and the game. Aside from a very weird screen-flipping mechanic, it’s a beautiful, inventive 2D platformer.
As a heroic sentient mushroom (a meteor has fallen and made stuff sentient that ought not be) you wander around an environment made up almost exclusively of trash and junk. The first level is a tutorial that leads you through the interactive map (which features red dots that mark waypoints), the weapon system, and combat. The map’s dots mark the location of other mushrooms that need to be rescued from bugs or other enemies, much like the rescue-based level design in Drawn to Life.

We’ll make a promise to you: not once in this preview will we reference the “Things that occur in Vegas” advertising slogan that seems to pop up every time someone mentions the mecca of mischievousness in the middle of Nevada. Except for that one time. No more.
This is Vegas is a game dreamed up by an assistant. Senior Associate Producer Trevor Ellington told us the real story behind the Sin City-based open-world humor game: an executive assistant at Midway came up with the idea of a game that replicated all of the wild fun to be had in Vegas, and thus was born TiV. During the demo we saw here at E3, the game presented four various scenarios: Fight, Party, Game, Drive, but by the time the game is released in 2009, they’ll all be melded into what’s supposed to be a sandbox of a good time.

Capcom’s E308 Press Conference wrapped up about an hour ago and the company decided to focus its attention on bringing Lost Planet to the silver screen. In production from Arad Productions, the team that brought us the Spider-Man films, Lost Planet is expected to land in theaters around February 2011. Penned by David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake of Metal Gear fame, the film promises to stay close to the original vision planned out by game producer Keaiji Inafune. From discussion during the panel, it appears that both the Capcom brass, who were in attendance, and the father-son duo from Arad Productions are geniuenly interested in creating a legitamate action film without completely changing everything about the game.
A funny, and confusing moment, came when Capcom CEO Haruhito Sakamoto claimed Capcom saw great success from film adaptations of Resident Evil and Street Fighter. “We’ve had success with both of those,” Sakamoto told the thin crowd of journalists.
Street Fighter? Really? Well, you know what that means. Jean-Claude Van Damme will be in the Lost Planet film. You heard it here first.
