It’s times like these that we wish we had $250 to burn on a quilt.
Even if we can’t buy this, though, we can sure admire it (along with many other Space Invaders themed items). The quilt might not have the same explosive color as Space Invaders Extreme, but it sure makes the classic icons look all warm and cozy. Who wouldn’t want to snuggle with these alienoids?
Made by Emily from the Etsy shop CarolinaPatchworks (who you might remember as the craftster behind this 8-bit Zelda quilt), you can buy this blanket if you have some extra green lying around. You also might want to check out her other gaming items — she even takes recommendations.

Is there a title more apt than Patapon 2? Perhaps not. The upcoming sequel to the critically acclaimed PSP exclusive will be double the size of the original, according to Famitsu (via PSPHyper). The number of stages to be found in the upcoming sequel is twice that of the first title, giving players a lot more to play. In addition, the story will be fleshed out even more, with hero Patapon getting their own special abilities throughout the adventure.
Although the gameplay concept was simple, it was very easy to lose the rhythm and meet one’s doom in the original. Thankfully, the sequel will be a bit more accessible to players, as it will also indicate when a player is losing the beat. With more content, more enemies, more abilities, and multiplayer, it looks like there’s a lot to be excited about when Patapon 2 releases in Japan later this year.

Tecmo has a pretty honorable lineup of upcoming games for the DS, and Robocalypse is one on the list that’s managed to catch our eye. We’re even more intrigued after watching this interview with Ryan Gilbo (who also did a pretty good job of selling Tecmo Bowl Kickoff to us).
If a robot-based RTS with a B-movie feel isn’t enough to capture your attention, you probably won’t care about the other things Robocalypse has to bid. If you love robots (and the RTS genre), though, you definitely need to take a look at this game.
We can only hope at this point that it’s as fun as Gilbo makes it out to be.

It looks like the Resistance 2 ARG should be taken quite seriously. An email from getawarjob.com (attached, after the break) sends interested users to yet another site: America First, America Only. The site features some heavy conspiracy theories about the now-familiar “Project Abraham.” Each article featured on this printing press can be enlarged, and will undoubtedly give hints to the next step of this massive ARG.
[Thanks, Kenton for the tip. Thanks, Zach for the e-mail.]

It’s been almost three months since the launch of the teaser site for the Blue Bomber spin-off Mega Man Star Force 3, but finally Dengeki has posted the first screens.
These include several shots of the new side-on view that was promised for battles (as previously used in the Battle Network series). It looks like the hotness, if we’re honest, but we’re hoping they kept the old vertical battling display in as an option for us crusty traditionalists! Hit the “Source” link for the full set of shots.

When SCEE president David Reeves said there were technical problems with WipEout HD, we really didn’t know back then what that incurred. Now, according to CVG, the reason as to why the futuristic racer was slightly delayed is because it failed epilepsy testing.
Apparently, the dazzling flashes of ships rocketing at sub-light speeds is too much for those with the medical condition, and the game will be undergoing “re-engineering.” It’s unknown exactly how long a fix of this nature would take but, as Mr. Reeves had previously said, the game should “come out before the end of the year.”

For most of us, Band Brothers DX is just one of many unattainable titles in the Japanese market. We want to play it and love the crap out of it, but our inability to understand the Japanese squigglies keeps us from realizing just how great the game is. Thanks to Spencer at Siliconera, we can keep up with the most beloved content for the title.
You can see the top 100 downloads yourself right here. It’s not going to mean much to a majority of you, but if you’re looking for the top downloads of this week, then peep this:
- Shuchi Shin (Shuchi Shin)
- Gake no Ue no Ponyo (Miyazaki movie theme?)
- Nakanai de (Shuchi Shin)
- Kiseki (GReeeeN)
- Nando mo (Aoyama Thelma)* created by Nintendo

Signal Hill analyst Tom Greenwald commented positively on the pricing strategy of the PlayStation 3, according to Edge Online. He said that “Sony [is] well-positioned for first time since launch” thanks to the 80GB PS3 selling at $399 and “Sony’s biggest announcement was a strong counter-punch to Microsoft’s $50 price cut on the 360.”
Greenwald also mentions what he feels is another advantage Sony holds over the competition: a strong game lineup. He also says that the $399 price point is a great advantage over the competition’s similarly priced model, since it comes standard with so many more features. In the end, he’s just one analyst — your personal opinions are always the ones that count the most. Do you think he’s got a point?

We were pretty impressed with the trailer for Dragon Ball DS at first. Not just because the game’s 3D graphics are so impressive, but because we thought we were witnessing the first Dragon Ball DS media not to feature Bulma lifting her skirt.
We thought this for one minute and twenty-three seconds. We get it, Banamco! It’s a famous scene from Dragon Ball, and it makes a clever use of the DS screens, and also it’s good for pervs. Move on!
Speaking of moving, the game continues to look really awesome — fast-paced and action-packed in a way that the real Zelda games never were

The Project Abraham countdown has ended, and we haven’t discovered an open beta quite yet. (Good job, Nick. You were right on the money!) There are, however, new videos for your perusal, many of which are quite disturbing. Looks like the tone of Resistance 2 will be rather dark, if this viral site is any indication. One of the creepier aspects of the site is the community’s ability to vote on who will get injected next. Chances are, no matter who you vote for, the results will be quite … disastrous. (Oh, and guess who else is on the list?)
