The PSP homebrew scene continues to expand to new, uncharted territories. This time, it appears drkIIRaziel of DCEmu has created a Dreamcast emulator for the PSP. Considering how powerful the hardware is, this seems like a rather futile effort, as evidenced by the first footage (seen above). While it will unlikely prove to be fruitful, this exercise shows the incredible skill and talent found in the community.

This just in: if any of you were curious enough to import Nintendo’s Slide Adventure: Mag Kid, complete with its unusual “slide sensor” peripheral, then do not play it while resting your DS on top of your cinder block. We are deadly serious here: as far as we can ascertain, playing the game on your other individual masonry units is safe.
This advice is brought to you by the Slide Adventure: Mag Kid instruction manual, which also recommends you don’t play the game atop a grand piano, and ignore pointing the slide sensor’s laser directly at your eyeballs. Head to Aeropause for more hilarious scans of the manual (which totally reminded us of the ker-razy Japanese Wii safety pamphlet).

Publisher Stardock has released the first trailer for Demigod, its upcoming “team-based action game with RTS and RPG elements” being developed by Gas Powered Games. The title will support one-on-one battles, but the game apparently shines in team play. The idea of a “team-based” RTS is still something we’re wrapping our brains around; as multiplayer RTS is nothing new, but Demigod sounds like something different. For those who really want to get some hands-on time with the game, we were able to confirm the title will be at PAX.
Gamespot recently spoke with GPG and Stardock about the development of Demigod and we’re definitely looking forward to learning more as the title continues its crusade for an early 2009 launch. We’re still keeping our fingers crossed for an announcement that the game will make the leap to consoles. Check out the trailer after the break.

Michael Pachter is of the mind that Nintendo made a whole ton of money during the second quarter. Nintendo is supposed to release figures on the 30th, but that hasn’t stopped Pachter and Wedbush Morgan from coming up with some figures of their own. Pachter says the company will report earnings of ¥421 billion ($3.91 billion) and raise their yearly guess to ¥1,907 billion ($17.7 billion).
“Nintendo’s recent financial performance has been spectacular and we expect this to continue in FY:09,” Pachter commented, going on further to state that “Nintendo’s Wii and DS appear to be selling even better in FY:09 than in FY:08, and we believe the momentum will last through the end of FY:09.” This is likely due to some smart advertising campaigns, which had female celebs showing off how awesome the handheld is. Plus, you know, the handheld has tons of amazing games.

Anyone who was around thirty-some years ago (or saw the movie Summer of Sam) might know that New York City wasn’t the safest of places during the 1970s. That’s why we’re even more intrigued by the realistic-looking adventure game, Unsolved Crimes, which takes place in this crime-filled setting.
The game should be releasing this fall (in the UK, at least), and centers around a rookie detective. He (and therefore, you,) must figure out the circumstances behind the disappearance of aspiring model Betty Blake. The game will focus on the one overarching storyline, but will include other mysteries for you to solve as well (à la Hotel Dusk). In fact, the press release boasts that there are eight different cases to solve.
Also like Hotel Dusk, you’ll have to pay close attention to detail so that you can answer questions later (in addition to point-and-click adventure gaming and action-packed shootouts). Check out the new screens in the gallery below for more of an idea of what to expect.

Hey, we all know how playing Monster Hunter can make you into a “chick magnet” by just playing it. But, how about wearing it? Yeah, wear the pride of being a Monster Hunter with this polo shirt available at Play-Asia. You too can join the “Hunter Club” with this official club shirt which proudly states membership started since 2004 (when the series began).
The shirts come in available sizes M, L, and XL with a price tag of $39.90 plus shipping. While the shirt looks pretty cool, perhaps it won’t make you that much more of a lady’s man. You’ll perhaps have to pick up some Monster Hunter plushies for that.

Remember that sackboy papercraft thing from awhile back? How did you do? Did you make an awesome creation? Did you make sure to send a picture of your creative work to the Media Molecule guys? Because, if you did, they may have featured your work on their blog.
It seems the internets has lots of creative people as many have sent in their final designs. Our favorite is this Solid Snake sackboy by Nessen (pictured); it even comes with matching Mk.II. Just have a look at the different designs posted on the Media Molecule blog to see what other things people came up with. Even better yet, some of these designs have PDFs for you to download, cut out, and make your own! Yes, even Snake. So get-a-stepping and make a Solid Snake sackboy papercraft.

As the mascot of Japanese cell phone company NTT docomo, Inc., Docomodake is obviously serious business in his homeland, as the above mountain of plushes, keychains, and cell phone straps attests. In Europe, the chubby mushroom is virtually unheard of, but that hasn’t deterred Ignition, who announced this morning that they would bring Boing! Docomodake DS to the region this fall (a listing for the game at Gamestop exists, suggesting a U.S. release is also likely).
Playing as Papa Docomodake, players must track down the other anthropomorphized fungi that make up the Docomodake family, and get them all back to a festival in the Docomodake Forest. To do this, he’ll be able to deploy miniature mushrooms who can be used as projectiles to see off enemies, or to form makeshift platforms and ladders. It looks like a fairly light-hearted slice of platformy fun, not to allude cute — the first screens are waiting for you in our gallery.

Earlier this afternoon, Namco-Bandai made an announcement regarding the release date for their anime adapted Afro Samurai game-o-samurai-stuff. And even though a samurai is no ninja, Afro Samurai will be ninja sneaking into retailers early next year. January 27th to be ninja-exact. Hopefully, by then, the game’s dismemberment technology will do Afro’s samurai moves justice.

Over the weekend, a video of Darth Vader and Yoda fighting each other in Soulcalibur IV was leaked onto the internet (and then it was subsequently pulled). Currently, Darth Vader lives only on the PS3 version, while Yoda lives only on the Xbox 360 version. Could Namco Bandai be planning DLC which unlocks the famed Star Wars characters in both versions? It would make a lot of sense, wouldn’t it?
According to the Korean PlayStation site, Yoda will be available for download from the PSN. That sounds like DLC to us. While Namco Bandai hasn’t confirmed anything yet, we wouldn’t be surprised if Yoda (and who knows what other characters) ended up appearing in Soulcalibur IV.
