Creat Studios and TikGames have announced that its upcoming arcade racer Smash Cars will be released on the PlayStation Network on the 20th of August.
A follow up to the original ‘no rules’ radio controlled racing game released by Creat Studios in 2003, Smash Cars is a tricked out single or six player online multiplayer RC toy car racing game. The game features real-time physics simulation and vehicle customization options that enable players to “twist and turn, grind and gear up, perform aerial tricks and stunts while racking up points as they knock friends off the track and race to the finish.”
The frenzied raceway roars around a previously peaceful Mediterranean Island, the small RC vehicles activating nitro-fueled rocket boosts to score air and execute tricks and jumps. Earn points for performing jumps and aerial tricks, hitting obstacles and colliding with other cars, skidding and drifting around turns and finishing first. Choose from the Monster Truck style chassis, Buggy or Sports Car configurations – heading to the workshop to slap on a new coat of paint or add glass styles or decals – and unlock new body styles as you progress.
Smash Cars will feature trophies and downloadable content is also in the pipeline. Check out the racing madness in this new trailer or head over to our previous coverage for more information about the game.
