Japanese Media Create Hardware Sales for week ending 30/08: PS3 comes in last again

The PS3 has limped into last place again on the Media Create Japanese Hardware Chart. Sony’s console sold just 1 040 units for the week ending the 30th of August but this is to be expected with the price cut for the PS3 in the wings and the PS3 Slim launching across Japan yesterday, the 3rd of September.

Expect the PS3 Slim to be on top of the Chart next week, with predictions that it will outsell even the DS which consistently occupies the number 1 spot.

Speaking of the DS, it sold a combined total of 67 185 units, with the DSi selling the majority of that figure with 59 881 units and the DS Lite with 7 304. The Wii followed with 25 038 units, the Xbox 360 with 7 254 and the PS2 with 3 179.
