Entitled Cyber AI Entertainment, the company is reported to be working in the realm of cloud computing and considering the development of “an advanced platform for entertainment,” says Nikkei.

Kutaragi, who owns a 90% stake in Cyber AI Entertainment and will serve as the company’s president, is joined by a former Sony engineer, Takashi Usuki, who will serve as a member of the board, and owns the remaining 10% of the company.

“We’ll initially focus on research and development relating to information processing, targeting cutting-edge networking operations,” said Kutaragi of his goals at Cyber AI Entertainment.

This venture is in addition to Kutaragi’s responsibilities as a board member of Kadokawa Group Holdings, a cross-media publishing organisation, and follows his extended stint at Sony as Honorary Chairman of SCEI, after stepping down from his executive position in June of 2007.
