The PS3 has topped the Media Create hardware chart in Japan, selling 48 925 units for the week ending the 8th of November. This spike in sales (up from last week’s 36 061 units) is mostly due to the release of World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 for the PS3 which debuted at number 1 on the software chart with 218 000 copies. Bayonetta for the PS3 also secured a Top 10 spot on the chart with 29 000 copies.

The DSi follows with 37 421 units and the PSP with 33 784, both down marginally from last week’s 37 517 and 34 911 respectively. The Wii sells roughly 3 000 more units this week with 31 810 units while the PSPgo plummets to 13 992 units, down from last week’s launch figure of 29 109 units in its second week on the market.

The DS Lite drops slightly to 5 515 units and the Xbox 360 to 4 679 while the PS2 rounds off the chart, up slightly to 2 066 units.

Combined sales of the DS stand at 42 935 units and the PSP at 47 776, which means the PS3 still outsells both of the popular handhelds in Japan this week.
