A Google image search of Lara Croft is a lot tamer than it used to be these days, though it’s still something we wouldn’t suggest doing. Thankfully, we have a link to quench your thirst for inspired, non-naked, sexually-deprived-fanboy-fantasy-quasi-porn, courtesy of The Design Inspiration.
There are 40 fanworks in total, all originating from deviantART (obviously). There are a lot of great renditions, including the image where Lara is fighting dinosaurs and the one where she’s hiding from dinosaurs. We also have a soft spot for this odd image of her fighting Wonder Woman, but the best has to be this image where she defends herself so she can stop and eat the baked potato she brought down into the tomb with her. Tomb raiding takes a lot of carbohydrates, people!

Ever have one of those days when you’re up really late, just lookin’ at art, and then you end up getting sucked into a dreamworld where you have to run through a series of levels based on surrealistic paintings, collecting crystals while avoiding nightmarish monsters? It’s an extraordinarily relatable experience, and one that’s serving as the premise for Halfbrick’s soon-to-be-released PSP Mini titled Echoes.
A recent press release from Halfbrick has revealed a Nov. 19 release date for the game, which will sell for the low, low price of $2.99. If you’re curious what being inside a painting feels like, check out the game’s debut trailer, which we’ve posted after the jump. Otherwise, just load up this image and put your face really close to the screen.

You know those neighbors you have? The ones with fake deer, flamingos and gnomes all over their yard? This is for them. More specifically, it’s to utterly petrify them with abject terror. Have no fear though, for the piranha plant you see above is not real, but rather a sculpture created by one Jaime Margary. We suggest you check out Margary’s Flickr account for a closer look at the piece, which is also accompanied by a baby piranha plant (and a dog that is entirely too calm about he whole situation).
And yes, the sculpture will be up for sale on eBay soon. Throw on a motion-activated flamethrower and you’ll have the nerdiest home security system ever devised. Watch a step-by-step video of the sculpture’s creation after the break.

Some Nintendo fans are disappointed in America’s Club Nintendo initiative. In spite of giving away free swag the company is completely not required to do, many found this year’s Elite bonuses (a hat and calendar) a bit lackluster. Perhaps a new bonus, “exclusive” to Club Nintendo members will cheer the naysayers.
Nintendo’s Denise Kaigler teased IGN readers with this cryptic message: “Keep your eyes on the Club Nintendo Web site in September. That’s when we will offer members some exclusive Nintendo artwork.” To make the offer even more enticing, she emphasizes how super-secret it is. “For the reason I mentioned earlier, I can’t say any more than that right now – it’s a secret to everybody.”
Perhaps Club Nintendo members will be able to get a super-exclusive sneak peak at the next Zelda game? Probably not — but your theories are certainly welcome!
