2K Games has revealed the box art for their next entry into the Bioshock franchise, making sure you know what to look out for when the title releases on February 9th next year.

Bioshock 2 is set to continue the story of the underwater dystopian city of Rapture, set 10 years after the events of the original first-person action adventure title.
Playing as a Big Daddy this time (one of the misunderstood antagonists from the first game), you’ll need the extra muscle to go up against a new enemy, the Big Sister, and discover new mysteries lying at the bottom of the ocean.
Bioshock 2 will also include a variety of multiplayer modes, which everyone will probably need to adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach before judging whether or not such extended features are even necessary for a world as rich as that of the original Bioshock.
Be sure to browse through El33tonline’s previous coverage of Bioshock 2, and wipe your eyeballs over a larger image of the newly released box art below:

While Bioshock 2 is sure to have a stellar singleplayer campaign (as evidenced by the recent Siren Alley trailer), it’s also going to contain a few multiplayer modes, one of which is called ‘Capture the Sister.’
As you can tell from the title, it’s essentially capture the flag, only using the creepy Little Sisters as a points currency, as you pick and lug the little girls from one place to another to score points for your team while trying to fend off attackers from the other team who are also looking for the Little Sister.
Watch a round of Bioshock 2’s Capture the Sister multiplayer mode in action below:

A new singleplayer trailer has been released for Bioshock 2 after a bit of an extended hibernation period following the news that it, like many other games, had been delayed until next year.
The trailer is book-ended by two revelatory sequences as ‘the voice’ of Rapture introduces… itself, revealing Big Sister to be ‘the hand’ that carries out the will of ‘the voice.’ Pretty creepy.
The middle of the trailer is filled to the brim with intense, unrelenting action, and confirms the game’s previously announced release date at the end. You can watch all of that below:

Publishers 2K Games announced late last week that their upcoming Bioshock sequel will be releasing in early February next year, after the game was expected to release later this year but was subsequently delayed until an unconfirmed time.

Bioshock 2 will return players to the depths of the underwater dystopia of the city of Rapture, and continue with the first-person action adventure themes of the previous entry, only set ten years later, and this time, you play as one of the prime antagonists from the first game – a Big Daddy:
“Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.”
Bioshock 2 hits the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on Feburary 9th next year. Have a gander at El33tonline’s previous coverage of the game to start frothing at the bit.

Kotaku have posted up pics of an enormous piece of art created by professional illustrator Eric Maruscak, commissioned by Bioshock publishers 2K Games to be completed during PAX 2009.

Maruscak began drawing the piece during the opening hours of PAX on Friday (September 4th) this year, and spent 26+ hours working on it. Now that PAX 2009 is over, the piece has been sent to 2K Games, probably to be used as an awesome display at 2K Marin (developers of Bioshock 2) or simply to impress people at 2K headquarters.
Shift your eyes below to see a work-in-progress snapshot of the piece, featuring an almost life-size Big Daddy:
