Are you bored with the unspoken, yet powerful sexual tension between Resident Evil 5’s protagonists, Chris and Sheva? Yeah, we are too — that’s why we’re so excited about these scans from the latest issue of Famitsu (as uncovered by Siliconera), which reveal that the second chapter in the game’s Alternative Edition DLC, titled Desperate Escape, will let you play as Jill Valentine and Josh Stone. In case you didn’t recognize that last name, Josh Stone is actually a pretty popular British female soul singer. Seems like a weird choice, but what-evs.
Okay, Josh Stone is actually the BSAA member who helps out Chris and Sheva throughout the game — mostly through the deus ex machina helicopter rescues for which the series is well-known. But wait — if you’re playing as Josh Stone, who’s going to come rescue you at the end of the game in a helicopter? This could be bad, folks.

Click to “super” sizeCody isn’t the brightest of the Street Fighter bunch, is it? The Final Fight star made his first appearance in the series in Street Fighter Alpha 3, having just escaped from prison. Apparently, he hasn’t figured out how to remove his manacles (nor has he changed out of his incriminating garb) in the several years between the events of Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter II, nor in the time between Street Fighter II and Super Street Fighter IV, which is where these new screens originate.
Sure, the other characters are all wearing the same outfits from years ago (except for Chun Li), but those can all be reasonably believed to be choices. Maybe Dan wears other stuff when he’s off the job, and changes into his pink gi. But it’s extremely hard to believe that Cody would voluntarily don his prison uniform and shackles again, which suggests that he can’t remove them. This is also the guy who picks up a rock and throws it as one of his special moves.

Capcom’s let loose an avalanche of new media for upcoming Tatsunoko vs Capcom. We’ve got something for everyone, including some piping-hot screens from the screenshot oven (screens are always baked, you know), concept art and even a pair of new gameplay trailers. If you’ve ever wanted to witness a robotic girl pummel someone with a broom, well, head past the break and soak it all in.

Has the pernicious dealing with retail requirement kept you from the ongoing, stylish adventures of Nero and Dante (not that Dante)? Capcom has good news for those of us with no tolerance for relics like stores and boxes: starting December 22, the PC version of Devil May Cry 4 will be available for download on “the digital distribution partner of your choice,” including, of course, Capcom’s own shop, where pre-orders are being accepted for $29.99. The 360 version will hit Games on Demand, along with Lost Planet Colonies Edition, the same day.
Capcom notes that the PC version of the action game features some enhancements not found in the console versions: altered enemy placements, a “Turbo Mode,” an extra-difficult “Legendary Dark Knight Mode,” among several visual tweaks. And now, it’s enhanced with buying it from home mode!

Though we just found out about Mega Man 10, we won’t have to wait long at all before we can try it. Nintendo’s new Q1 schedule gives a March 2010 date for the WiiWare run-and-gun — just two months after Capcom starts releasing Phoenix Wright ports. What a wonderful time to have an Internet-connected Wii and enjoy Capcom products.
With the release so close, we expect more information to come out soon, starting with character art for all the bosses and the mysterious third character. We currently only know of the delightful Sheep Man and Commando Man.

Capcom’s clearly had enough of people just not getting what Dark Void is all about. So, it put together this latest trailer for the game which clears up any confusion. Is it a puzzle game? No. Dating sim? Nay. RPG? Well, only in that you play the role of a guy with a jetpack who can do a whole buncha stuff, all of which is summarized with big letters and clips of the character doing what said letters say he’s doing.
If, after viewing the video, you’re still not clear on what Dark Void is about, we suspect Capcom’s next step will be to come to your home and demo it for you. Or it could just release a demo. Yeah, that’d work.

If you’re desperately wanting to get your hands on some new glad rags for Resident Evil 5’s co-operative protagonists, then the expanded “Mercenaries Reunion” gametype in the game’s upcoming DLC should fulfill your sartorial fantasies. Sheva’s new outfit, nicknamed “Fairy Tale,” resembles Little Red Riding Hood’s garments, as reimagined by someone involved in the adult film industry. Chris’s new outfit, nicknamed “Warrior,” simply turns him into a person-shaped collection of fists.
Sheva’s duds can be seen in the video above, while Chris’s can be found just after the jump. Proceed with caution if you elect to view the latter — there’s a very real possibility that your eyeballs could get punched.

Get your weapons ready! The latest issue of Nintendo Power features some mega news — specifically, the upcoming release of Mega Man 10 on WiiWare.
The new installment, like the brilliant Mega Man 9, uses an NES-style aesthetic, and features wacky new bosses like Sheep Man. Sheep Man! Proto Man returns as a playable character (this time immediately, and not as time-delayed DLC), along with a third mystery character! The extra character’s identity: just one of the details, like the release date or whether or not it’s on other platforms, that we’re just going to have to wait to find out.
An image in the writeup also reveals an Easy Mode for the game, which we can imagine being welcome for a lot of people not accustomed to the uniquely painful experience of trying to complete an NES Mega Man title.

This slightly hokey Japanese trailer for the WiiWare ports of the Phoenix Wright games features an overexcited kid informing his easily shocked father that the series is now available on WiiWare — at which point they turn on the Wii and, essentially, watch more of the trailer that they are currently in.
The family also demonstrates the new Wiimote gestures for Phoenix’s exclamations: Igiari! (Objection!), Matta! (Hold it!) and Kurae! (Take that!) Seeing people perform the motions on video, it actually looks like much more fun than we anticipated. So much fun that we’ll be driven to play through the games again on Wii just to make fools of ourselves in a new way.

Lost Planet 2 may be produced in Japan by Japanese developers at a Japanese company, but it’s rooted in Western design philosophies — namely, the art of shooting. In a Capcom published developer interview, producer Jun Takeuchi explained the company’s marketing strategies in and outside of Japan.
“In foreign countries that account for a large share of sales,” Takeuchi said, “we are going to rely on the brand recognition of Lost Planet and emphasize the new features in the game, as well as four player co-op mode.” To emphasize the parts of the game that Japanese gamers might be more interested in, Takeuchi suggested, “we’re going to focus on pushing the concept of ‘enjoying four player co-op mode’ instead of the fact that this game is an action shooter.” In other words, Capcom’s hoping to make Lost Planet 2 sound as much like Monster Hunter as possible.
Additionally, as part of its “Single Content Multiple Usage” multimedia initiative, Takeuchi said that Capcom may extend Lost Planet to manga as a promotional tool in Japan.
