A batch of new screenshots has appeared for Crackdown 2, Microsoft and Ruffian’s open-world, crime-busting superhero action game, and the sequel to Realtime Worlds’ original title on the Xbox 360.

“Crackdown 2 will take multiplayer2 gaming to unprecedented levels for the ultimate cooperative and competitive multiplayer experience, providing you and your friends with the complete freedom to explore, destroy and play as you return to restore justice and peace to Pacific City — by any means necessary.”
That’s what the press release says, anyway.

Tokyo Game Show 2009 may be over, but there’s still a lot more to see, so why don’t you join us in feasting upon the last remaining scraps of media to be released for Crackdown 2, straight from the show.

Crackdown 2 is set to improve upon, and far exceed, the original Crackdown’s competitive and cooperative multiplayer capabilities, as you and a bunch of friends run, jump and shoot each other (and enemies) in and around the enormous cityscapes of Pacific City.
For a taste, you can watch a multiplayer video featuring a portion of the city, albeit a pretty empty one:
