Microsoft has announced the Xbox Live Marketplace content schedule for December and it’s a real doozy. The Deals of the Week — usually a haven for long-forgotten or unwanted DLC — are actually real deals this month. In particular, Shadow Complex will be dropped from 1200
($15) to 800
($10) during the week of December 21. The following week, starting December 28, Twisted Pixel’s The Maw will fall from 800
($10) to a miniscule 400
($5).
In addition to the normal Deals of the Week, Microsoft will also be offering daily deals from December 18-31. The company didn’t specify what any of those deals will be, though it promises discounts on “games, movies, blockbuster game add-ons, holiday themes, you name it!” Rest assured, we’ll be keeping our eye on things once the deals start rolling.
In the meantime, check out the XBLM December schedule, including Deals of the Week, Games on Demand and XBLA after the break.

Update: We’ve unearthed some screens of the PSP version, courtesy of
Game Watch. There may be some difference between it and the XBLA version, but they’ll
probably look pretty similar. Peruse them in the gallery below.
Microsoft’s Major Nelson has announced that Qix ++ is headed to Xbox Live Arcade this week. Apart from the price (800
/ $10), that’s really all we know. The “++” in the title might be a clue, though, given that Jeff “Why’d you buy Frogger” Minter seems to have an affinity for throwing plus signs at the end of retro game titles. It’s also worth noting that Minter worked on the XBLA version of Space Invaders Extreme which, like Qix, is a Taito (via Square Enix) game. For now, with no assets of the game available, you’ll have to settle for a video of the original Qix posted after the break.
In other news, the Xbox Live Deal of the Week is Rock Band DLC, specifically No Doubt’s The Singles 1992-2003 album. The DLC has been discounted from 1600
($20) to 1200
($15).

Hey, remember when we reported that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was slated to be the Xbox Live Deal of the Week for the week of November 30? Well, guess what? It is the week of November 30! Sure enough, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 can now be downloaded for a mere 240
; otherwise known as three dollars. That’s two bucks off, making It a pretty good deal, especially if you conveniently forget how many times you’ve purchased the game over the years.
Barring that, you can always shamefully push the purchase button anyway.

, “See the Future” drops from 560
($7) to 400
($5), while Death Tank takes a precipitous tumble from 1200
($15) to 800
($10).
We’ll also take this time to remind everyone that this week is the perfect time to snag both Peggle and the recently released Peggle Nights expansion all for 800
($10). Trust us, Peggle is the perfect thing to calm the inevitable family arguments over the holidays. Just don’t let grandma anywhere near it, because she will not give it back.

Heading into the Thanksgiving weekend and the beginning of the holiday season, Microsoft has revealed the upcoming additions to Games on Demand and Deals of the Week. On November 23, Games on Demand will see three new entries, Saints Row 2, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and Battlefield: Bad Company.
The same week, there will actually be three Deals of the Week. The Fable II DLC “See the Future,” normally 560
($7) will be knocked down to 400
($5). Meanwhile, Death Tank, usually 1200
($15), will be reduced to 800
($10). As The best deal, however, will be the excellent puzzler Peggle, which will shoot from 800
($10) to 400
($5). Pair that with the recently released Peggle Nights expansion (400
), and you’ve got a lot of sweet, sweet Peggle for only $10.
As revealed earlier, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will the Deal of the Week starting November 30. It will be reduced from 400
($5) to 240
($3).

According to Sega, the XBLA version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will soon become an Xbox Live Deal of the Week. The deal is scheduled to begin November 30 — just in time for the holidays — and will see the game’s price drop from 400
($5) to just 240
($3). That’s an absolute pittance for one of the best Sonic games out there, and with Project Needlemouse still a long way out, you’d be hard-pressed to do much better (seriously).

All of you fence-sitters out there can finally (high) stick it to the man. That’s right, 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is this week’s Xbox Live Deal of the Week. We realize that you were all agonizing about its 800
($10) price point. Now there’s nothing to hold you back, as it’s been marked down to an icy cool 400
($5). That’s only five pucks, so skate on over to Xbox Live Marketplace and give it a try.

Though that other open-world crime drama just got a huge booster shot in the form of the release of Ballad of Gay Tony, Volition’s Saints Row 2 is getting a helping hand from its ol’ pal Microsoft. Major Nelson recently announced that the game’s DLC pack, “Ultor Exposed,” is the Xbox Live Marketplace Deal of the Week. The pack, which offers three new missions, a new co-op mode and a playable character modeled after real-life porn star Tera Patrick, has had its price cut to 560
($7). That’s a 30 percent discount from the add-on’s usual 800
($10) price point.
With that, we’d like to welcome the naughty folks who ended up here after searching Google for “porn star Tera Patrick.” Welcome! Sorry, there’s no images of your erotic quarry to be found here, but take a look around, anyways! You might just like what you see.

Fable 2’s Pub Games was a brilliant way to prep players for adventures in Albion before the game’s release last year, but its post-launch price of $10 seemed like a bit of a gamble. It’s this week’s Xbox Marketplace “deal” at 400
($5).
Considering that Pub Games was designed as a glorified piece of marketing, wouldn’t it make sense to release it for free to generate renewed interest in the Fable 2: Game of the Year Edition (in which it is also included) or the episodic download? Surely that’s the better bet.

As promised, this week’s Xbox Live Deal of the Week is the Versus Mode DLC for Resident Evil 5. The content has been discounted by forty percent, dropping from 400
($5) to 240
($3). We can’t imagine there being too many fence-sitters out there waiting to buy this initially controversial DLC (which we liked).
Over in Japan, they’re getting a different deal: Golf: Tee It Up for 400
($5), fifty percent off the normal price. Remember when you could just call a game “Golf” and be done with it?
