Xbox 360 port of 3D Dot Game Heroes ‘possible’

November 8th, 2009 at 02:30pm Under Xbox 360

If you Xbox 360 owners have been reading posts about 3D Dot Game Heroes and anticipating its localization with green, envy-filled eyes, you’ll be pleased to learn that there’s a tiny chance the game could be spinning inside your console sometime in the future.

My Game News Flash recently stopped by Silicon Studios to chat up producer Hiroyuki Misawa, who offered that a port is “possible,” but that it’s really up to From [Software].” He added, “We’re a developer, so if there’s a call to make it, I believe we can do it.” Hardly confirmation that a port is in the works, but should that be a future move for From Software, Silicon Studios sounds like it’s willing.

ESRB rates Armored Core 3 Portable for stateside release

October 5th, 2009 at 03:15pm Under PSP

Giant robots on a tiny screen? How unthinkably farcical!

From Software managed to see beyond this astute observation earlier this year when it ported Armored Core 3, a six-year-old PS2 title, to the PSP in Japan. It looks like America will also be exposed to this amusing juxtaposition, as the ESRB recently rated a U.S. version of Armored Core 3 Portable. From Software has yet to officially reveal a stateside version of the mega-mech sim, but we predict we’ll be hearing just such an announcement soon. Hopefully, it’ll be accompanied by a English-language version of the above trailer. (Such drama! It’s like a robot-centric soap opera!)

TGS 2009: Japanese developers love on Project Natal

September 25th, 2009 at 08:44pm Under Xbox 360

If there was any doubt left in your mind that Japanese developers are on board for using Project Natal, we’ve got seven fancy, high-powered Japanese developers ready to convince you of their dedication in video form — in case you didn’t know, all the cool kids are doing it.

Above, we’ve dropped Capcom’s Keiji Inafune. He sees Natal as an “enhancement” rather than a replacement, saying the current controllers prevent game developers from creating “games without limits.” This of course begs the question: What happens when you combine Garry’s Mod and Project Natal? Our guess: Madness.

Peep developers from Tecmo, Namco, Kojima Productions, Konami, From Software and Sega extolling Natal’s many virtues after the break.
