From a post by Gran Turismo European Brand Manager, Penrose Tackie, on the European PlayStation Blog, PS3 owners will be able to sample Gran Turismo 5 this month with the launch of GT Academy 2010 on December 17th.
Through a downloadable Gran Tursimo 5 time trial demo, users will be able to post their best times, and if you measure up, you could be on your way to qualify for an entry into the GT Academy to race real-life cars around real-life circuits!
The time trial features two versions of the Nissan 370Z, and you can watch a quick video talking about the history of the GT Academy below:

An announcement on the European PlayStation Blog has just revealed that owners of Sony’s PSPgo, new and old, are eligible for a free game download for simply registering your console on the PlayStation Network and signing in.
You’ll automatically receive an email from the PlayStation Store with a redemption code – enter the code into the store via your PSPgo and select which of the free games you’d like to download.
What games are up for grabs? You can choose from Gran Turismo, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge and Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines! If you’re in Germany, you can choose from the similarly excellent line-up of Gran Turismo, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge and LittleBigPlanet.
This offer is valid from December 1st until January 10th 2010, so while there isn’t exactly any huge hurry, you surely want a great game to accompany you sooner rather than later, don’t you?

During the annual Tokyo Motor Show this year, Sony and car manufacturer Toyoto will together unveil the latter’s new FT-86 Concept Car in a special version of the former’s Gran Turismo 5, which will be on display at the show, where attendees will be able to catch a glimpse of the car in all of its digital glory.
The Tokyo Motor Show kicks off this weekend in Chiba (which is also where the Tokyo Game Show takes place) where car manufacturers and exhibitors from around the world (mostly from Japan, though) will be showing off their latest machines and innovations.
Gran Turismo PSP will also be on show… at the show, and attendees will be able to take their copy of the game along and download 100 additional cars. Wow!

Sony has kicked off their TV ad campaign for Gran Turismo for PSP, launching across the US this Thursday, the 1st of October, alongside the new PSPgo.
Watch below to see the Corvette ZR1 racing against the PSP on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Sony has announced a limited edition Gran Turismo PSP Entertainment Pack which will launch mid-October, shortly after Gran Turismo makes its first appearance on the PSP at the beginning of that month.
What do you get in the bundle, though?
For $199.99 on October 20th you’ll be able to get all of the following in the Gran Turismo PSP Entertainment Pack:
- Mystic Silver PSP-3000 system
- Gran Turismo PSP game on UMD
- PlayStation Network downloadable voucher for a white Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, a color not available in the game and is exclusive to this entertainment pack
- 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
- PlayStation Network downloadable movie voucher – title TBD
- Sony MusicPass voucher good for 10 downloadable songs – available to U.S. residents only. Choose from hundreds of thousands of your favorite artists from Sony Music Entertainment.
The stand-alone version of Gran Turismo on PSP, however, releases on October 1st in both UMD and digital download flavours.
