Capcom has announced that a co-op demo for Lost Planet 2 will be arriving on the PlayStation Network on the 24th of September, the first day of the Tokyo Game Show. The demo is scheduled to arrive on both the US and European PlayStation Stores at the same time.
The demo includes the Salamander boss stage of episode 1 that was available in the Xbox 360 demo, but PS3 gamers will also be able to blast their way through two extra parts of the jungle stage.

Apparently you will be “fighting with your friends against new Akrid in a dense jungle with the 4 player online co-op, using new weapons and VS to clear the path.” These two exclusive additional missions will involve an “online co-operative extermination of the Akrid of E.D.N. III.” A full online co-op demo for the game is already available on Xbox Live.
Capcom will also release a new trailer for Lost Planet 2 on the PSN on the 24th of September. The new Tokyo Game Show trailer will give players a “glimpse of the new desert environment and even bigger Akrid than seen before,” something new to the jungle and city environments that we have already been shown.

Here’s some information on the demo from Capcom’s PR Manager, Brain Keltner:
“Throughout the demo players will run into Akrid ranging from small (in Lost Planet terms) to enormous, as they fight to collect the precious thermal energy contained within the Akrids bodies in order to heal themselves, their friends, and power the armored Vital Suits. Utilizing a number of weapons from machine guns to missile pods and rocket launchers scattered throughout the environment, teams of four players can join up via the PlayStation Network and clear three mission objectives with friends, giving them a glimpse into the jungle of E.D.N III.”
“In order to promote cooperative gameplay, players can share life-giving thermal energy amongst injured members of their squad while new support weapons allow teammates to boost attack and defense capabilities. Additionally, the new dash feature allows players to sprint for short distances, bringing greater speed to combat.”

Capcom has announced that a full online co-op demo for Lost Planet 2 will arrive on Xbox Live this Wednesday, the 19th of August. The demo will be available to Live Gold members on the 19th with Silver level members able to join the fight on the 26th of August. The publisher has not released details of when the demo will be available on the PlayStation Network.

Players will be required to work together if they are to take down the G-Type Salamander Akrid boss, using Vital Suits together, sharing T-ENG and using the new Injection Gun to boost your allies attack and defense power.
Find out more about the demo below.
“Utilizing a host of weapons scattered through out the arena, squads of up to four players will face off against the huge monster in an attempt to bring it down. Players can assault the Salamander in a number of ways, from shearing off its legs to actually being swallowed and fighting their way out from the inside!”
“Superior firepower comes in many flavors, including numerous beam and projectile weapons and several Vital Suit robotic combat units that up to three players can ride at once. There are new support weapons which allow teammates to boost attack and defense abilities, while players can share life-giving thermal energy amongst injured members of their squad. Additionally, the new Dash feature allows players to sprint for short distances, bringing greater speed to combat.”
