Writing in a recent Workshop blog post, LucasArts responded to complaints that its XBLA and PC puzzle-platformer, Lucidity, can be “particularly punishing.” A new update, which adds checkpoints in an effort , has been launched on PC and is set to via an update set to arrive on Xbox Live within the coming weeks. “We feel that there is so much great content in Lucidity that we want to open it up and make it more accessible for people to experience.”
Listen, LucasArts, we respect what you’re doing here, we do. But please, for all our sakes, be careful. Listening to the internet is a slippery slope, one that ends in everyone hurling dung and racial epithets at each other. And if you don’t agree with that, you’re a Nazi.

LucasArts has just released a patch for the PC version of the intriguing puzzle platformer Lucidity, promising that a patch for Xbox 360 gamers would be coming in the following weeks.
Since the game launched on Xbox Live Arcade and PC via digital download on the 7th of October, many gamers have been complaining about the difficulty and lack of checkpoints in the game.
The publisher believed that it had balanced the game: “we designed the levels to be fairly short and the restarts as quick as possible and we felt that the game would be fine without checkpoints.” However, they have since admitted that perhaps they did underestimate the challenge.
For this reason they have released an update for the PC version of Lucidity which includes the addition of checkpoints. “We feel that there is so much great content in Lucidity that we want to open it up and make it more accessible for people to experience. So we have decided to create an update.”

While our Live Top 10 posts are usually reserved for the endless slap fight between the Halo and Call of Duty franchises — Halo 3 remains on top, if you must know — our attention was drawn directly to Xbox Live Arcade this week. Major Nelson reports that South Park: Let’s Go Tower Defense Play rests at the top of the most purchased XBLA games for the week, while Lucidity — which debuted the same week to mixed reviews — failed to make the top ten at all. It’s not a direct measurement of the title’s early success, but it certainly doesn’t bode well for LucasArts’ original puzzle platformer.
Based on the apparent success of South Park we have a suggestion for Lucidity 2: More cursing.

Two pleasantly surprising games on Xbox Live Arcade this week. First, there’s South Park: Let’s Go Tower Defense Play!, which is a tower defense game based on South Park, of all things. Then there’s Lucidity, an original puzzle platform game from LucasArts. After taking a quick jaunt through the trial versions of both games, we’re pleased to say that both of them are quite enjoyable. See what you’re in for in the latest XBLA in Brief, and then decide if either game deserves your 800
($10).

Major Nelson has announced that the two games gracing Xbox Live Arcade this week will be Lucidity and South Park LET’S GO TOWER DEFENSE PLAY. The first is a puzzle platformer from LucasArts with a positively delightful art style, while the second … well it’s pretty self explanatory. It’s a tower defense game set against the backdrop of the famous, quiet little mountain town. Both can be yours in exchange for 800
($10).

LucasArts’ dreamy platformer, Lucidity, has received an official price of $10 (800
in Microsoft’s fantasy currency world). While the team behind the title jested with selling a single $3,000,000 copy and calling it a day, they thankfully opted to include all of us at a more reasonable price. And if 300,000 of us get lured in by the side-scrolling adventure, it’ll work out about the same!
Look for Lucidity on October 7th on PC and Xbox Live Arcade.

Earlier in the month LucasArts unveiled their new project Lucidity, a puzzle platformer coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PC via digital download on the 7th of October.
Lucidity is set in the surreal dreamscapes of a young girl named Sofi and sees players taking a trip into her imagination as she explores new worlds and overcomes obstacles.
Players must keep Sofi safe as she drifts deeper into her dream world, placing puzzle pieces that are randomly generated to create a path for her, keeping her in perpetual motion and delivering her safely.
Now the publisher has released the first official trailer for the game, which you can enjoy below. You can also head over to our previous coverage for more information, screenshots and gameplay trailers for Lucidity.

LucasArts’ new Lemmings-inspired puzzle platformer, Lucidity, will walk onto Xbox Live Arcade and PC — avoiding the trap of brick and mortar shops — on October 7. Many of the game’s developers are responsible for the The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which updated the adventure classic for a new audience.
For those who missed the announcement of Lucidity last week, be sure to check out the first footage of protagonist Sofi’s march through the game’s beautiful dreamscapes.

Last week LucasArts unveiled their new project Lucidity, a puzzle platformer coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PC via digital download on the 7th of October.
Lucidity is currently under development from the LucasArts team that re-imagined The Secret of Monkey Island. Set in the surreal dreamscapes of a young girl named Sofi, the game sees players taking a trip into Sofi’s imagination as she explores new worlds and overcomes obstacles.
Players must keep Sofi safe as she drifts deeper into her dream world, placing puzzle pieces that are randomly generated to create a path for her, keeping her in perpetual motion and delivering her safely.
Watch Sofi in action in this intriguing gameplay footage or cast your eyes below for the first screenshots from the game.
“Lucidity comes from our effort at LucasArts to form several small internal development teams and give them the creative freedom to make games that surprise, amaze and inspire,” said LucasArts President Darrell Rodriguez. “The re-imagining of The Secret of Monkey Island and the development of the all-new Lucidity are just the beginning of this effort.”
