If this Thursday finds you in a superheroic mood, a recent addition to the Xbox Live Marketplace might just serve as an excellent outlet for you to dish out some costumed justice. Major Nelson recently confirmed that a demo for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has been added to the service. Sure, it’s a bit tardy, considering the game came out nearly two months ago. Still, we’ll happily accept any free opportunities we can get to pretend to be Gambit for a few minutes. We kin’ try talkin’ like dis’, ma cherie, but … well, it doesn’t really cut it.

If using a credit card online rubs you the wrong way — or your extreme laziness prevents you from leaving your home to purchase a points card — PayPal can now be used to buy Microsoft Points on Xbox.com. There are a few caveats to the new option, however: The new payment method is only available to US residents and will only work through Xbox.com (not your actual console).
Users can attach multiple PayPal accounts to their Gamertags and purchase points, which can then be used to purchase content — like (the insanely priced) Xbox 360 Games on Demand titles. To add a PayPal account, follow these easy steps:
- Sign in to Xbox.com
- Direct your browser to the Account Summary page
- Select “Manage Payment Option”
- Click “Add a new PayPal Account” and follow the onscreen instructions.
Your virtual wallet will be filled with Microsoft Funny Money in no time!

Select individuals have been seen sporting Halo-themed Avatar clothing recently, with fine young gentleman Randy No Arms being the latest spotted. It makes sense, considering the guy works for Microsoft, but are these new duds a part of the Avatar rewards beta, or is this the Avatar marketplace at work? Regardless, we’re totally jealous he’s sporting a slew of Halo-branded clothes, including a hat emblazoned with the UNSC symbol, a shirt with a pair of crossed energy swords, and a nice pair of khaki shorts with the Spartan helmet on the left leg.
Be sure to hit up our gallery below for some shots of the Avatar marketplace from E3, complete with Gears of War 2 and Halo storefronts.
