According to a Remedy managing director Matias Myllyrinne, the studio wants to discuss the possibility of leaving the ending of its upcoming thriller Alan Wake off discs sent to press with its publisher, Microsoft. “I think we’re going to be insanely careful about how much of the story we reveal,” Myllyrinne told G4TV. “I’d like to hold it back, [I] don’t want anybody to spoil it for the audience. That’s just my personal feeling.”
Using the twist ending of The Sixth Sense as an analogy, Myllrinne says he’d prefer players be able to piece together the secrets of Bright Falls on their own before having them spoiled by others. Although admirable, his analogy can only mean one of two things: Alan Wake is dead or he’s Haley Joel Osment. Either way, we’re already terrified.

Like all good things in life, there’s a steep price to pay for watching last night’s Bioshock 2-centric episode of GameTrailers TV (posted after the jump). That price is your everlasting soul.
Okay, all it actually costs you is exposure to a few spoilers for the game — but isn’t that just as bad? Remember that sense of wonder the first time you stepped foot into the murky waters of Rapture? Aren’t you afraid you’ll ruin whatever semblance of that emotion that might still appear in the sequel by filling your … you’re already watching it, aren’t you? You’re a fiend, you know that? A fiend.

Well, we don’t. And we imagine the odds are that you don’t either. We don’t really understand these special people that want to see 15 minutes of a game they’re not playing and spoil the experience for themselves, but if that’s how you want to be introduced to Dead Space Extraction then allow us (well, Vooks) to be your vessel.
… Well, how was it? How about that dirt? Is it washing off? No, we didn’t think so.

Warning: Spoilers!
As we did when the Mythic Map Pack was released, Joystiq brings you a quick video guide to locating the final three skulls in the new Halo 3 multiplayer maps included with ODST. In order for gamers to grab the final skulls — and the Gamerscore attached to them — players will need to enter each new map (Citadel, Heretic and Longshore) in Forge mode accessed on ODST’s second disc.
Like the Mythic Map Pack, not every skull is in an easy to reach location. Citadel may pose somewhat of a challenge, because the skull is placed in an area gamers may not be able to access when exiting Monitor mode. However, with the help of a few objects and the Grav Lift equipment, it will eventually be yours. Found a better way to grab the skulls? Drop some science in the comments!
Be sure to check out Joystiq’s Halo 3: ODST Review, as well as in-depth analysis of the Campaign and Firefight games modes.

For fans of speed runs, Shadow Complex housed a clever secret that allows gamers to skip most of the game and complete it in record time. Surrounding the mystery was knowledge that players are able to obtain the Foam ability within the first 15 minutes of gameplay. Over the last few days (since its August 19 release), gamers across multiple message boards compiled data and quotes, and tried brilliant ideas to crack the code.
And they blew it wide open. If a certain number of tasks are completed within a short time frame, gamers are able to bypass an entire section of the game, landing them within a few rooms of the Foam ability.
Spoiler Warning! YouTube user Nogarda1 showcases the steps needed to cleverly infiltrate the enemy base after the break.
