Well, unless you work for Weta, of course. The Warthog above, as seen on Pixelated Geek, was made by a company called Custom Creations, and was built for the Halo fan film, Operation Chastity. That’s right, it was made for a fan film. Not to put too fine a point on it, but had we been tasked with building a Warthog, it probably wouldn’t even be as good as modified Power Wheels. Suffice it to say, it’s pretty nice.
To see some pics of the Warthog’s construction process — it took approximately a year to build — head over to the official Operation Chastity website. The project begins filming in 2010.

We know a little something about adorable, so believe us when we say that this is, by far, the cutest, cuddliest Warthog we have ever seen. Created by flux83, the car is modified Power Wheels Chevy Silverado. It comes complete with custom windshield, hubcaps, chain gun and even the Warthog’s trademark tusks. Check out a video of the Warthog in action after the break.
While you watch, ponder what it’s like growing up with a father whose hobby is making awesome Power Wheels mods. Luckiest. Kid. Ever.

Why should your Avatar have all the fun with a Warthog prop? Available from NKOK, a RC controlled Warthog can be yours for a mere $25. So save that money you’d have spent on your Avatar and spend it on yourself. You’re worth it!
Later this month, NKOK will also release an RC Mongoose (that’s the dune buggy-thing) and the Hornet (chopper-thing) for $25 and $35, respectively. Now, not to look a gift horse in the mouth but … where’s our RC Scarab?

For those within the vicinity of Sydney, Australia, the land down under, it might be fun to check out the Halo Warthog on display this weekend on Cockatoo Island. The car is the same one from Neill Blomkamp’s Halo short Landfall created by special effects studio Weta.
Although for many the idea of putting on their best Master Chief uniform and spending a couple grand to fly to Sydney isn’t exactly a viable option, with any luck, a version of the car will make the rounds in the States for the Halo 3: ODST launch. No guarantee, but keep the dream alive, trooper.
