Just in case you feel like decking your Xbox Live Avatar out in the latest seasonal wardrobe, Microsoft has released a number of holiday themed items.

For instance, you could elect to purchase an elf outfit, or perhaps a Santa Claus (or Mrs Claus) costume. But then again nothing gets you in the festive spirit quite like pointy elf shoes or a gingerbread cookie prop.
Head over to the Xbox Marketplace to join the festivities.

Microsoft and Turn 10’s latest racing simulation game, Forza Motorsport 3, has managed to sell over 1 million copies worldwide since its release in late October.

According to Microsoft, players of Forza 3 have logged over 6.6 million collective hours of game time while playing online, all across over 64 million play sessions.
In addition, players have driven over 590 million miles (or 949.5 million kilometres) in the game, which as Microsoft points out, is equal to “more than three trips from the Earth to the Sun and back.”
To improve these statistics even further, Turn 10 released the Hot Holidays Car Pack on Tuesday which includes 10 new cars, and is yours for 400 MS Points.
El33tonline was rather impressed with Forza 3, so why not read our review to see why over a million gamers were whipped up into such a frenzy.

The album is going for a pricey 1200 MS Points, which is at least a little lower than the normal asking price of 1600 MS Points, no doubt about it! (…)

The first episode of Team 17’s (Worms) Alien Breed Evolution will become available on Xbox LIVE in two weeks time, and to celebrate, the developer has released a mess of screenshots and a few trailers for you to gawk at.

Alien Breed Evolution (Episode 1) is a re-imagining of Team 17’s classic alien breed top-down corridor shooter, Alien Breed, which released in 1991 to great acclaim. Now, 18 years later, gamers will be able to get their hands on the next entry to the franchise on December 16th on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the measly sum of 800 MS Points.
After looking over the following screenshots, and watching the two included videos, you’ll understand why that amount of Space Bucks is so measly.

While the game is currently exclusive to the Xbox 360, it’ll become available soon enough on PC and PS3 next year, and features singleplayer and cooperative play while using Unreal Engine technology to raise “the quality and production bar for original digital download titles.”
Take it away, screenshots and videos:

Despite being released well over a year ago now (August 2008), Castle Crashers remains one of the most popular games on Xbox Live Arcade.
Back in June Castle Crashers reached one million players in less than ten months after the game’s release, making it the fastest growing XBLA game in history. And the developers, The Behemoth, even have the figures to prove that Castle Crashers was the top rated and best selling Xbox Live Arcade title as at September. In addition to these accolades Castle Crashers also found the time to win an XBLA Game of the Year award, receive two rounds of DLC and celebrate its first birthday.

As you can see it’s been a busy year for Castle Crashers, but it looks like The Behemoth have still found the time to bring fans a pair of stylish looking Castle Crashers shoes! So far we only know that the arrival date will be “sometime in the future.” Always nice to see a developer supporting our gaming habit.

Currently on Xbox LIVE through Microsoft’s Games on Demand service, users are able to buy full, current generation games as a digital download, providing a more convenient, online method of purchasing games as opposed to actually using some muscles and going down to the local retailer.
So far this service has amassed quite a collection, with games such as Dead Space, Crackdown, Saints Row 2, Bioshock, and many more available to download.
Microsoft announced late yesterday that a similar service will soon become available for the company’s online solution for the PC, Games for Window LIVE, allowing users to download PC titles in the same vein as Steam, Impulse and Direct2Drive, as well as Blizzard and EA’s online distribution solutions.

This new PC-centric Games on Demand service will launch on December 15th, and come prepped with games such as Resident Evil 5, Red Faction: Guerrilla and Battlestations: Pacific, as well as indie games such as World of Goo and Osmos, while a formerly Windows Vista-exclusive game, Tinker, will be available for free.
This new Games on Demand service will be in addition to Games for Windows LIVE’s current infrastructure, which tracks your Achievements for Games for Windows LIVE branded games, links your Gamertag and friends list to your Xbox LIVE profile, and acts as a storefront for additional add-on content.
You can go have a look at GamesForWindows.com to get yourself set up with the service, should you choose to do so.

After a flurry of Twitter tweets from people in the know, it seems the infamous ‘Javelin Glitch’ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s online multiplayer is in the process of being fixed.
Here’s Infinity Ward’s Creative Strategist Robert Bowling:
“Javelin Glitch fix currently in test. Once it’s cleared, we’ll be urging it through Microsoft & Sony certification as fast as possible.”
This was followed up by a Twitter entry from Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE, Stephen Toulouse, warning abusers of the glitch that they would face a suspension from Xbox LIVE:
“While IW works on getting the MW2 glitch fixed, people we catch using it will [receive] suspensions from LIVE. Play fair everyone. :>”
In an effort to lend a helping hand and push Infinity Ward’s glitch fix through the pipes as soon as possible, Xbox mouthpiece Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb tweeted in reply to Robert Bowling’s entry:
“Thanks for the update….I’ll put pressure on from my side as well.”
The Javelin Glitch in question involves players exploiting Modern Warfare 2’s more explosive weaponry in online play in combination with running perks, effectively turning you into a suicide bomber ready to explode on death, taking multiple victims with you.
Don’t do it, or else you’ll be faced with a two week ban on Xbox LIVE.
A patch for the glitch will arrive for PC Modern Warfare 2 players as soon as it’s ready, while PS3 and Xbox 360 users will need to wait for Sony and Microsoft to approve the update, which could mean it’ll be with us anytime from today until some time next week.
